These glass jars have successfully passed ASTM C149 (Standard Test Method for Thermal Shock Resistance of Glass Containers), a recognised test that evaluates the resistance of commercial glass containers to sudden temperature changes. This testing is commonly used to assess the suitability of glass containers for candle applications.

During the test, 48 samples were immersed in water at 63°C for five minutes and then transferred to water at 21°C for 30 seconds. This represents a temperature differential of 42°C. None of the samples were damaged during the test.

ASTM C149 provides a method for evaluating the relative resistance of commercial glass containers to sudden changes in temperature. The result provides supporting evidence of the thermal-shock resistance of the tested glass containers under the stated laboratory conditions.
